Located across from Margate Middle School, Gerri’s Sports Pub was the site of a crack cocaine bust in August. Cops were tipped off, and a Confidential Informant (CI) was sent in to make a buy. Two grams were seized and the alleged dealer arrested.

This bust is kind of weird. The CI allegedly bought drugs from Jack Erazo inside Gerri’s Pub on August 5th, but Erazo wasn’t busted then for dealing. Police waited three weeks to take Erazo into custody – but not for possessing or dealing crack/cocaine. Instead, for sleeping in a car in Gerri’s parking lot. This after a double-blind lineup on August 11th (a week later) when the CI positively identified Erazo in a lineup.

“As I walked to the passenger side window, I identified Erazo who was asleep in the passenger seat of the vehicle. I knocked on the window, which made Erazo wake up and open the passenger door. Erazo was asked to step out of the vehicle, which he complied to do. Once he was out of the vehicle he was placed under arrest for one count of 'SELL COCAINE’, reported Margate Police Officer, Sebastian Zehetmaier.

Police frisked Erazo when exiting the vehicle and no report of him possessing drugs was reported.

“While patting down Erazo, he became weak and needed to sit down. Margate Fire Rescue was called to check on Erazo's condition. While waiting for Margate Fire Rescue to arrive I notified Erazo of his Miranda warnings via my department issued Miranda card. Erazo did not wish to speak to me. Once Fire Rescue cleared him, he was transported to the Margate Police Department for processing. Erazo was later TOT BSO Jail without incident,” reported Zehetmaier.
